GRANDMA’S DOLLS
I inherited a few large dolls from my mother and grandmother. Having printed directly from my body in the past, printing from the bodies of these dolls felt natural. I combined them with tools, bones, phone chords, and useless pieces of tech. Evoking a sense of disconnect, replacing the human with digital tools as well as the fear of our own mortality. The intention of this work lives at the intersection of external forces - artificial intelligence, climate change, political unrest – and internal struggles – identity, substance abuse, family trauma and memory combining to create powerfully transformative images.
